Mysore
Mysore is the second largest city in Karnataka, and it was the capital city from which the Mysore Maharajahs ruled the Mysore State. Evidence of the existence of the city is first found in the 10th century AD during the reign of the Gangas. But Mysore would finally be transformed from a small town to a modern township during the reign of Krishnaraja Wadiyar III. The fine monuments that abound in Mysore to do this day bear eloquent testimony to the Wodeyar legacy.
